Working with North West Information Sharing Group

Paul Davidson (Director of Standards) has joined the North West Information Sharing Group (NWISG), which has helped to progress LeGSB's thinking on standards for data sharing as a result. The group has made some good suggestions about how the topic can be broken down, so that we now have a model that incorporates
  • Semantics - The meaning of information
  • Syntax - The structure of information
  • Data Quality - The confidence to use information
  • Authorisation - The right to use information
  • Authentication - Who is accessing information
  • Transport - How to move information
  • Information Governance - the behaviour and culture to protect and explot information


LeGSB to facilitate the development of standards for the DWP’s e-Transfers Project.

The DWP have appointed the Local e-Government Standards Body (LeGSB) to facilitate the definition of XML schemas and vocabularies necessary to support the transfer of Benefits case data from Job Centre Plus, and the Pensions, Disability and Carers Service, to Local Authorities.
