Purpose
|
The objective is to establish a set of commonly recognised standards, adhered to by all players, making it possible not only to have easy access to statistical data, wherever these data may be, but also access to metadata that makes the data more meaningful and usable. |

Current status
|
The SDMX Version 1.0 set of technical standards has been approved by ISO as a technical specification (ISO/TS 17369:2005). Version 2.0 has been publicly been released and it's approval process by ISO is ongoing. |
