Statistical data & Metadata Exchange format (SDMX)

Description

An international initiative to foster standards for the exchange of statistical information.

Purpose

The objective is to establish a set of commonly recognised standards, adhered to by all players, making it possible not only to have easy access to statistical data, wherever these data may be, but also access to metadata that makes the data more meaningful and usable.

Current status

The SDMX Version 1.0 set of technical standards has been approved by ISO as a technical specification (ISO/TS 17369:2005). Version 2.0 has been publicly been released and it's approval process by ISO is ongoing.

Development

All interested parties at international and national level are invited to actively contribute to the further development of the SDMX framework as well as to its active implementation.
