Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) Metadata Terms

Description

The standard includes elements, element refinements, encoding schemes, and vocabulary terms.

The information in this row is extracted from the www.dublincore.org website. Fifteen elements, the DCMI Metadata Element Set, have been formally endorsed in the NISO Standard Z39.85-2001 [Z3985] and ISO Standard 15836-2003 [ISO15836]. The extended set is used as the basis for eGMS although eGMS does not fully comply with the abstract model for DC metadata and therefore cannot be considered as a true Application Profile of Dublin Core.
